The future competitiveness of the Quebec economy depends on its ability to significantly expand its quantum technology talent pool.

Quantum acceleration programs can prepare a whole generation of college students to help Canadian industry lead this transition.

A collaboration with Numana, a catalyst for Quebec’s emerging technology ecosystem, and AI Launch Lab, which has been operating AI acceleration cohorts since 2019, will boost quantum capabilities at the college level in Quebec tenfold, strengthen the country’s quantum talent assets and increase industry capacity and competitiveness.

Seven years of programming iterations, carried out in partnership with CEGEPs and prioritizing accessibility and student collaboration between regions, have resulted in a model that can be reproduced on a large scale, and which will unleash the latent capacity for innovation present throughout Quebec.

The capacity for quantum experimentation and adoption will be disseminated not only to large, leading-edge technology companies in Quebec, but also to start-ups and small businesses, so that as many Quebecers as possible are in a position to benefit from the next wave of quantum technologies.
